Perry Truman Stewart, born 11-15-1949 to Perry H. Stewart & Julia Averette Tritt Stewart; married in Tuscaloosa in October 1968; served in the Air Force 5-20-1969 to 2-16-1970; died 9-13-1978 in Newton, IL; obit follows:

Truman Stewart  Funeral Services for Truman Stewart, 28, of 5 Mayfair, who was killed Wednesday near Newton, IL, will be Friday at 11 am at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.  The Rev. W. Paul James will officiate with burial at Ada Chapel Cemetery in Bibb County.  Stewart, an employee of A & L Trucking Company of Centreville, was alone in his truck when it went off the road and down an embankment.  He died of internal injuries.  Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Jan Stewart, Tuscaloosa; one daughter, Julie; one son, Perry; one sister, Mrs. Judy Bolte, Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Arlynn Tritt, Jacksonville.  Active pallbearers will be Larry Glover, Tony Stewart, Willard Corley, Don Moore, Morris Smithson, Benny Stewart, Parker Weaver and Edd Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and relatives; members of the National Guard Engineering Company 166, Centreville; employees of A & L Williams Trucking Co. of Centreville; employees of Olen Belcher Lumber Co; former employees of Gulf States Paper Co; employees of First National Bank of Tuskaloosa and members of Fairview Wesleyan Church.  The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm tonight at Memory Chapel.
