Norman H. Reim, Jr. of Upper Black Eddy, PA passed away at his home on July 28, 2023.

Born December 28, 1949, in Tuscaloosa, Al., Norman had lived in the Delaware Valley for 30 years, including Lambertville, NJ., Kingwood Township, NJ and Bucks County, PA.

Norman was a songwriter and singer and worked professionally as a member of the band NED from 1969 to 1975. During his time as a professional musician, NED opened for many legendary musicians, including The Kinks, Johnny Mathis, Chad Mitchell, Sly and the Family Stone, The Supremes, B.B. King, and more. Norman never lost his love for music and continued writing songs and playing music throughout his life.

Later in his life, Norman became a strong advocate for the disability community, working in public relations for the New Jersey Department of Human Services and the New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities. Norman was editor and publisher of People and Families Magazine, an advocacy publication for people with developmental disabilities, and managed press relations for issues affecting those with disabilities in New Jersey.

Son of the late Norman H. Reim, Sr. and Minnie Evalyn (Avery) Reim, Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Anna (Hoehn) Reim-Kline, his daughter, Emily Kline, Emilys husband, Roger Plawker and their three children, Benjamin, Leah, and Eli. Norman is also survived by his sister, Avery Ramspeck, her husband Ted Ramspeck, and many nieces and nephews, including Lynn (Ramspeck) Stevens, Cathy (Ramspeck) Connor, Deborah (Freshwater) Silber, OK Bryant IV, and Tracy Carter. Norman is predeceased by his sister, Caroline Freshwater.

Norman also leaves behind his lifetime NED fellow musicians and friends who remained dear to his heart until the end, Nick Talantis, Jeff Parsons, Rokko Jans, Richie Morales, and Doug Mazique. He also leaves his loving friend, Dea Talantis, dear friend and caretaker, Gladys Boateng, his musical collaborator and close friend, Charlie Pellegrino, his good dog Roscoe, and many other musical and non-musical friends he made along the way.

A memorial celebration of Normans life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Normans name to the Southern Poverty Law Center or Doctors Without Borders.
