William Thomas (Tommy) Nelson, born 10-14-1948 to William I. Nelson and Doris Mildred Burchfield Nelson; served in the military from 7-24-1969 to 1-26-1972 ; died 7-13-1982.

Funeral services for William Thomas “Tommy” Nelson, 33, of 319 18th St., East, who died Tuesday at Druid City Hospital, were to be at 3 pm today (Wednesday, July 14, 1982) at Sunset Funeral Home.  Dr. Gilrod H. Cole, Jr. and the Rev. Alvin Essary were to officiate with burial in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.  He is survived by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. W. I. (Billy) Nelson, Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Linda) Walker, Northport, and Mrs. Del (Jean) Delgado, Jasper; two nieces and a nephew.  Pallbearers were to be Mike Davidson, Leon Tucker, Nelson Dowdle, Jimmy Burchfield, Calvin C. Fowler and Robert Bailey.  Honorary pallbearers were to be employees of the engineering service at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Mrs. Wallace Rhone, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Pearson, Mrs. L. C. Crawford, friends and neighbors of 18th and 19th Streets East.
