Funeral services for Louis “Lou” Monroe Mullenix, Jr., 21, of 11 Lynn Haven, will be today (Saturday, September 23,1972) at 3:30 pm at the chapel of Hayes Chapel with the Rev. Charles Langston and the Rev. Jimmy Harper officiating.  Burial will be in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.  He died Thursday in Macon, GA.  Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Julia [Essary Mullenix] Englebert and his step-father, Charles A. Englebert, both of Tuscaloosa; a sister, Mrs. Ann Sims of Tuscaloosa; and the grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Mullenix and Mrs. M. S. Essary, all of Tuscaloosa.  Active pallbearers will be Court Pickett, John Wyker, Chuck Leavell, Jim Coleman, Ronnie Brown, Bill Connell and Tippy Armstrong.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hopewell Baptist Church, employees of Liberty National Life Insurance Company; the graduating class of 1968 at Tuscaloosa High, Dr. William A. Taylor, Mac McDaniel, William Pickett, W. R. Evans, Jr., Dr. Earl Glenn, Robert Romaine, and Ned Englebert.  He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
