Ms. Fredrick J. Porbeni

TUSCALOOSA - On Wednesday, October 3, 2018, Ms. Fredrick J. Porbeni, loving mother, sister and educator passed away at the age of 68.

Fredrick was born on January 2, 1950, in Tuscaloosa, Ala. to Freddie and Rosel Jemison. She was a graduate of Selma University and Miles College and went on to teach in the Tuscaloosa City school system for over 27 years.

Fredrick will be lovingly remembered by her son, Mr. Desmond D. Porbeni and son-inlaw, Mr. Karl J. Gambin; both of South Orange, N.J.; sisters, Ms. Essie J. Mitchell of Gulfport, Miss. and Mrs. Jessie J. Tubbs (Richard) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; nieces and nephews, and a host of loving friends and family all over the world.

A celebration of Fredrick’s life will take place on Monday, October 8, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Bama Theatre, 600 Greensboro Ave., Tuscaloosa, AL. In honor of a life dedicated to education, memorial donations in Fredrick’s memory can be made to DonorsChoose. org.
