Pat Hinton (Plott)

 

Pat Hinton Plott, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend peacefully passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama.

Born on July 13, 1950, she is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jerry Plott; sons Bobby Plott (Blair), Paxton Plott, and Morgan Plott; grandchildren Boots Plott and Thomas Plott; her sister Peggy Hogue (John); and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn and Snow Hinton.

Pat graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1968 and from the University of Alabama in 1972 with a degree in elementary education. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the Worship Choir for many years.

Her greatest joy came from caring for others. She spent her life making everyone she knew feel loved and special. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for those she loved.

There will be a Celebration of Life service, graveside, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 9:30 am with the Rev. Jason Duren, officiating. Visitation will be immediately following the service. Masks and social distancing are respectfully requested.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sonny Bunn, Doug Duke, Chad Fleming, DeAnthony Hall, John Hogue, Jr., Tripp Lindsey, Bill David Plott, Geoff Plott, Hunter J. Plott, Hunter L. Plott, and Scott Sanders.

A special thanks to Dr. Brian Wilhite, Dr. John DuBay, Dr. John Crew, Dr. Jason Bearden, Nursing staff at Manderson Cancer Center and Hospice ofWest Alabama, Tammy Telle, R.N., and Jo McMahon for their professional care, concern, and support.
