Winston Grow

CHRISTOPHER WINSTON GROW Christopher Winston Grow, 62, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, went to his Lord on 14 September, 2011. Winston was born 28 May, 1949, in Maracaibo, Venezuela to James A. and Altona W. Grow. The family moved to Tuscaloosa, AL in 1960 where he graduated from Tuscaloosa Senior High. He attended Jacksonville State University before starting his careers in clothing manufacturing, sales, and accounting. His recent work history was in the corporate headquarters of Crawford & Company. Winston belonged to the Catholic family at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in NE Atlanta and drew spiritual sustenance from the Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon masses. Known for his love of the rosary, Winston was recognized at communion carrying his rosary and the missalette that belonged to his mother. Winston was a gentle, single man, who greatly loved his family and a close circle of friends; especially Sue, Scott, Brandon, and Timmy. He enjoyed science fiction movies and had a deep affection for his cats. Winston is survived by three brothers and their families: his twin brother Stephen and Nancy (Richardson, TX); Robert and Charlene (Huntsville, AL); and Sam and Rita (Linden, TN). His extended family includes numerous nephews and nieces spanning two generations and his "work" family at Crawford & Company. Waiting for him in the light of the Lord are his parents, his beloved sister Barbara, two brothers: John and James, and his ancestral lineage of relatives. A memorial service for Winston is planned for Saturday, 24 September, 1000 am, at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 7171 Glenridge Dr., NE, Atlanta, GA. Monsignor Fennessy will conduct the services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations go to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Jude in his name. A private burial will follow at a later date at the family gravesite in Tuscaloosa, AL.
