TUSCALOOSA - Curtis Alfred Evans Jr., 50, 7015 Audrey Rose Circle, died April 22, 2001, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be at Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Dr. Bruce Chesser and Greg Crane officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation is tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home (directing).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis A. Evans Sr. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Evans of Tuscaloosa; daughters, Amy Mitchell (Joe) of Northport, Shelly Kempster (Trent) of Northport and Jaena Shuttlesworth (Brian) Northport; son, Jeremy Hoggle of Tuscaloosa; sister, Jane Herring (Ray) Opelika; Dewayne, Jennifer, Jason and Dean Jones, Mary Ann Evans, Bob and Johnny Evans.

"Bubba" was a loving father, husband, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He touched many lives and found much strength from his faith in Christ.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Aycock, Marvin Lolley, Rex Shanner, Clint Wilson, Larry Gentry, Phil Cork, John Mize and Ron Cramer. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. David Hinton, Dr. Albert White, Dr. George Nunn, Dr. Omar Baker, Dr, Hill, Aycock/Phillips Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church, employees of Fletcher Supply, 6th Floor nurses and staff at DCH and nurses and staff of Cancer Center.
