Charles Smith

The death of my wife and two children in June, 1986 was devastating to my life.
One never gets over such tragedy. Time, certainly helps ease the pain, but
only ease. I moved to New York in 1988. I returned to Pensacola (briefly) in 1998. Sold my home and moved to Wisconsin.The tears never really cease. However, I am enjoying life here in the North Woods of Wisconsin. I have not re-married. I enjoy playing golf, fly fishing, writing poems, and have continued my art work. I can sculpt the human body. My friend Billy Wildman , notes: "Smith, you don't sculpt nudes, you sculpt naked women." I guess he's right.

I have met so many wonderful people, and have great friends here. Out-side of that, I live an unassuming life, caring for my two dogs; "Shortstop" (Jack Russell Terrier), and "Boxtop" (Australian Terrier). I enjoy reading fiction novels. I love gourmet cooking and watching movies, especially foreign films.

I was shy. I didn't care for High School because of the clics, and I wanted to get it over with and move on. I wanted to kiss so many of my female classmates, but was too shy. I regret not doing so, however I now look back at it as a small phase of a much more enriching journey. I was born peace loving, and have remained so, kind and gentle toward my fellow man. As I look over the list of my fellow THS classmates deceased, I am saddened. I want all of my friends at THS to know that I love them. I am not too concerned with returning to class reunions, and have as yet to join you. Please know that I enjoy corresponding. e-mail is o.k. but I especially like (now an art) letter writing. Who could forget the Woolsly-Fennell Bridge incident.(sp) Rusty Holleman and I remain close friends, as does Nick Talantis and Norman Riem and I. We are all still die hard Tide fans (Who couldn't be, being from "T" town. Roll Tide. The Badgers and the Wolverines up here, detest Alabama, bet you can't guess why. I rub it in!!
