Donny Ray Selman, Sr., age 57, of Coker, died June 22, 2007, at the VA Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Ben Jameson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

His father, Roland Selman, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Selman; daughter, Preasha Smith (Ronnie); sons, Donny Ray Selman, Jr. (Kellie) and Heath Jordan (Karla); sisters, Ruthie Channell (Eddie), Debra Allen (Jim) and Darlene Chancey (Joe); brothers, Al Selman (Loretta), Rodney Selman (Deb), Michael Selman and Ricky Selman; mother, Earlean Selman; and grandchildren, Bradley, Mariah,    Zack and Jordan Smith and Jesse and Emma Jordan.

Mr. Selman was born August 31, 1949, in Fairfield, Ala. He joined the Army at 19, received two purple hearts, two bronze service stars and was wounded during the Vietnam War. He loved fishing, golf and his six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Al Selman, Bobby Joe Selman, Dale Rowland, Ronnie Rominger, Ronnie Smith, Nicholas Selman, Bradley Smith and Heath Jordan. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Ross, Max and Joyce Maxie, Dorothy Gast and Morris and Mary Burroughs.
