Larry Wayne Johnston, age 68, of Moundville, passed away on October 24, 2018 at UAB Hospital.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Moundville Baptist Church with Dr. Jason Duckett officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Johnston and Corinne S. Johnston.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jennie P. Johnston; son, Jake Johnston (Ginger); “Special Sister”, Wanda Curtis (Robin); grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden and Hailey Johnston.

Honorary pallbearers are the Sunday School Class of Raymond Fields.

Larry was retired from the State of Alabama Conservation Department/DOT where he was a land surveyor for 28 years. He was a loving husband, father, “Pop”, friend to all and faithful attender of Moundville Baptist Church. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. His indoor activities included watching Alabama Football, playing poker on his phone or working challenging Sudoku puzzles. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all, including his faithful four legged companion, Tootsie!
