Mike and I were fast friends from the git go. We shared a love of music and our parents had professional and social links. I spent much time at the UA music department and choir rehearsals with Mike. While my violin skills were minimal and his cello skills ample, we enjoyed making music together in youth orchestras and at THJS in the choir conducted by John Hinton. We co-starred in Trail By Jury, a Gilber and Sullivan operetta and sang in the barbershop quartet with Bob White and Charley Walker.

Mike was one of the smartest and funniest people I knew in Tuscaloosa. I never stop being thankful for his friendship and that of his family.
